Cabo Landscapes of Absence

There is a particular timelessness and melancholy to Cabo—a coastal landscape carved by solitude. Agave stalks rising like antennae; laundry drying against a whitewashed wall; a boat hut standing untouched by decades of salt spray. In these quiet remnants, absence becomes almost tangible—a presence of its own.

I have come to think of the absence in such landscapes as a companion. One who is not there anymore, but gives you hints of life in wise clarity, having endured the test of time.
